If death has occurred, or for immediate service, call
us at
(713) 344-0764 (24 hours)
The
following timeline lists the steps that we take:
- When death occurs, we go to the place
of death and bring your loved
one into our care. (Immediately)
- We prepare the death certificate and
deliver it to the doctor's office for certification and signature. (24-48
hours)
- Once the doctor has completed his/her
portion of the death certificate, they call us to pick it up. (1-4
days)
- We retrieve the death certificate and
take it to the appropriate vital statistics office to file it. At
the same time, the vital statistics office issues the cremation
permit. (1 day)
- Once we have the cremation permit, we
submit it to the crematory,
and the cremation is scheduled for the following day. (1 day)
- When the cremation is complete, we
receive the cremated remains
back the next day. (1 day)
- In summary, the entire process takes
about 1 week to complete, depending on how long the doctor
takes to sign the death certificate.
- Please note that the vital
statistics offices and most doctors' offices
are closed on weekends and most holidays.
- Please also note that, by Texas
state law, we must wait at least 48
hours from the time of death before the cremation can take place.
